Silverwood Inspire timber cladding balances modernity and heritage at waterside development

  • 21 Sep 2016

An impressive waterside development designed by architects Stide Treglown has benefited from the installation of Silverwood Inspire timber cladding on 12 residential dwellings, to complement a converted workshop building which has been nominated for the 2016 Housing Design Awards.

The natural timber cladding, designed and manufactured by the A. Proctor Group, was specified for the Marsworth Wharf development, adjacent to the Canal and River Trust network on the site of a former concrete batching plant and waterways depot.

Contractors Hyatt Construction, which worked alongside lead developer H20 Urban, chose Silverwood Inspire timber cladding in an Onyx Black shiplap tongue and groove finish.

Available in a modern palette of colours, Silverwood timber cladding is backed by a comprehensive 10 year paint finish guarantee, and boasts a durability of up to 50 years as a result of the combined timber treatment and Silverwood factory applied paint finish.

The use of Silverwood Inspire helped Marsworth Wharf achieve a balance of traditional heritage and modern aesthetics for an impressive range of upmarket homes with views over the canal and countryside.
