Schueco AWS window range

AWS window range undergoes development programme

  • 3 Oct 2016

Schueco UK is undertaking the first stage of a two-phase development programme, aimed at enhancing its AWS outward-opening window range.

For the first phase of the development, Schueco will introduce several new profiles and fittings to increase the number of opening variations available.

The first phase applies to Schueco AWS 50.NI through to AWS 75.S1+ systems. The Schueco AWS 70 SC is excluded.

AWS window enhancement

The company has designed a double outward-opening window with continuous centre seals to improve fenestration opportunities. Sizes up to 2,000mm x 2,500mm are available for double vent windows; single vent windows can benefit from sizes up to 1,000mm x 2,500mm.

Both versions have achieved a Class 9A EN12208 water-tightness rating.

The new, slim-line window options have been designed with metropolitan residential balconies in mind. Schueco also believes the windows are well-suited to patios in exposed locations; when closed, they are able to deliver weather-tightness, whilst offering unobstructed views.

Lockable handles and multipoint locking ensures a high level of security. A handle-operated brake can hold the vent open at varying angles, from 15o to 90o; Schueco has also improved its range of opening limit stays to include a detachable 100mm restrictor.

The second phase of the development, which is scheduled for completion next year, will see the introduction of new top and side-hung concealed hinges, which have been designed specifically for Schueco windows.
