International materials technology company Lucideon to host webinar, on ‘Alternative Uses for Bricks in Structural Work: Moving Beyond Thin Brick’
Tuesday 01 November 2016, at 3pm
Webinar hosted by Dr Geoff Edgell, Director and Principal Construction Consultant at Lucideon
The focus on thin bricks, especially in the US, is on using them as a veneer within structures. Dr Geoff Edgell believes that unless a wider approach is taken to incorporate bricks into a build, the sustainability of the brick industry cannot be ensured.
Webinar will focus on alternative brick options, as opposed to just the popular thin bricks currently used. This includes the introduction of highly perforated clay bricks into the UK market.
How adapting pioneering work in the 1980s on the use of bricks in drainage applications, acoustic situations and single leaf construction could lead to new opportunities.
The approach to the introduction of highly perforated clay blocks to the UK market.
