A two storey hub building developed by Everton in the Community (EitC) near Goodison Park has been designed by architects Condy Lofthouse using Protan’s SE single ply roofing membrane.
The roofing was installed by Holloway Cook Associates, who specified 300m2 of Protan SE 1.6mm single ply membrane. The roofing membrane was mechanically fixed to the insulated timber roofing panels, up stands and trims.
The purpose-built facility will provide a new home for Everton in the Community, the official charity of Everton Football Club. The building will house all EiTC employs and operate a social enterprise café, counselling space and a “Family Zone” open for local community members, as well as a “Teen Zone” for younger members.
The community hub will also feature a number of programme delivery and meeting rooms, in addition to an open for all studio which will deliver health and wellbeing sessions.
Based only a few miles away from the community hub and Goodison Park, the specification of Protan added a sustainable consideration to the project.
The company’s SE single ply membrane, which is available in 1.2mm, 1.6mm and 1.8mm sizes, is certified to the energy efficiency requirements set out in Approved Document L and achieves an A+ rating under the Green Guide.
The single ply roofing membrane achieves a durability in excess of 30 years and meets the Building Regulations standards for air leakage control.
