‘Rolls-Royce’ inspired Wetherspoon pub specifies Changing Places

  • 21 Nov 2016

JD Wetherspoon has completed the £2.8m transformation of Sanford House, and the adjacent George Hall, in Huntington, into a new pub and hotel venue.

Once home to Charles Sandford Windover, a former coachbuilder for Rolls-Royce, the venue has benefited from the installation of a Changing Places toilet facility to enable full accessibility.

Described as the ‘Rolls-Royce of toilets’, Changing Places are spacious wheelchair-accessible toilets that feature an adult-sized changing bench and full X/Y ceiling track hoist. The toilets provide a minimum of 12m2 of space and also include a peninsular toilet, washbasin and privacy screen.

Changing Places are considered ‘desirable’ under Building Regulations Approved Document M 2015 and BS8300:2009 for all new build and refurbishment projects accessible to members of the public.

The toilets are supplied and installed by Clos-o-Mat, which offers support from design advice and project management through to commissioning and maintenance. The company’s website also provides white papers, 2D and 3D CAD drawings, standard layouts and videos on Changing Places toilets.
