Winners of prestigious NHIC Awards 2016 announced

National Home Improvement Council (NHIC) Annual Awards, first given back in 1974, honour and encourage achievement in improving the UK housing stock.

This year’s NHIC Awards, were presented at a special luncheon in the Gladstone Library in London on 17th November 2016.

The event was introduced by Baroness Maddock and Dr Peter Bonfield, Chief Executive of BRE was the guest speaker and helped Anna Scothern, Executive Director at the NHIC to present the 2016 Awards.

Dr Bonfield spoke about the important role that the NHIC Awards play in improving UK housing. He said “If we are to have a fighting chance at meeting the 2050 target set by Government, which commits us to an 80 per cent reduction in carbon – we must address existing stock, and reduce their carbon output by 80 per cent.”
