GEZE has introduced a new smart building solution for its automatic windows and doors, and heat and smoke ventilation products.
The IO 420 connects into the BACnet standardised global data communication system to manage a building’s light, heating, ventilation and alarm systems. The solution provides standardised integration with GEZE window drives, automatic door systems, heat and smoke ventilation products and safety technologies.
The IO 420 interface allows users to to control and monitor automatic door systems from a central location, showing which operating mode they are set to and displaying options for alarms – making it ideal for offices, passageways and public buildings.
The system can also incorporate emergency exit protection in the form of automatic releases for electrical locks and swing door drives, and immediate detection of abuse or incorrect operation.
The IO 420 can also control automatic windows and heat and smoke ventilation products, by triggering a ‘nocturnal cool-down’ and closing windows in the event of rain or strong wins. It can also be used to support natural ventilation based on internal and external conditions.
GEZE UK’s managing director Kaz Spiewakowski commented on the technology: “Smart building solutions are the future for many building types. They are convenient, reduce energy costs, increase security and introduce greater comfort for those using the building.
The IO 420 is designed to be scalable and therefore suitable for a wide range of premises – from small rooms with a few windows to entire buildings with complete integration of automatic systems.”
