A Changing Places accessible toilet facility has been installed and opened in the main terminal of Bristol Airport.
In a bid to make Bristol Airport accessible to all, a Changing Places WC has been fitted in the main terminal. Designed to provide additional equipment and 3m x 4m more space than a conventional wheelchair-accessible toilet, the facility is suitable for use by people with disabilities.
The facility includes a ceiling track hoist, a height-adjustable, adult sized changing bench, and one of Clos-o-Mat’s innovative Palma Vita wash and dry toilets. Its offering surpasses that specified in British Standards (BS8300:2009).
The equipment was supplied by Clos-o-Mat, a dedicated provider of ‘away from home’ accessible toileting facilities, and installed by Whitehead Building Services.
A Changing Places toilet is considered ‘desirable’ in buildings to which the public have access. In the last decade, more than 900 toilets have been installed across the UK: Clos-o-Mat has supplied the facilities to Heathrow, Birmingham, Gatwick and East Midlands airports.
Clos-o-Mat offers in-house design advice, commissioning, supply, project management and maintenance services across a comprehensive range of accessible toileting equipment. Downloadable white papers, CAD blocks, videos and room renders can be accessed via its website.
