AWMS joins the CPA to promote flood resilience

CPA and AWMS unite to promote flood resilience

  • 24 Jan 2017

Alumasc Water Management Solutions (AWMS) has accepted an invitation from the Construction Products Association’s Chairman to join the organisation as an Affiliate member. Together, the organisations will promote flood resilience and resistance.

The CPA is a major industry body, which represents British manufacturers and distributors of building products and materials.

It is an all-encompassing trade body for a number of established industry trade associations, such as NFRC, Future Water Association, the Builders’ Merchants Federation (BMF) and the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP).

Over the next year, the Association plans to increase recognition for the construction sector and raise its profile, by engaging with the government and public bodies to develop effective policies and solutions.

The Association provides a voice for manufacturers and distributors within the industry; it aims to grow business for its members, whilst reducing their regulatory risks and burden.

Promoting flood resilience

AWMS is honoured to join the CPA as an Affiliate member, sitting alongside the prominent construction brands on its board.

The Association will work with AWMS to promote the matter of flood resilience. The CPA’s recent ‘Flooding and Resilience’ workshops recognise the need to protect the built environment from today’s increasing risk of floods.

Together, the companies will work to drive change in current regulations and standards, influencing government bodies to act on flood resistance and resilience.
