Remedial works at Co-op distribution centre in Avonmouth was recently specified with Gatic Civil Drainage market-leading slot drain channel CastSlot.
The contractor was in need of a quick turnaround and had to be carried out with minimum disruption to the distribution centre. This was challenging as the works required the replacement of existing surface drainage and the replacements were on the main exit to the site.
Castslot was specified for its robust composition and high quality design as it was important that the new channel drainage could support the heavy load vehicles regularly passing through. It provides an effective surface water management solution for heavy load as it is manufactured from galvanised steel with a ductile iron top.
According to Paul Reilly of Building Services on behalf of Contractor Voker Fitzpatrick “regular sit visits and guidance helped ensure the system was correctly installed”.
He also said that Gatic’s CastSlot was the perfect choice for the project as the Slotdrain was surrounded by a 32/40 wet mix concrete pour so that it was completely insulated from any potential movement, ensuring an effective and durable solution.
