The managing director of Britain’s leading independent air movement solutions company describes the organisation’s employment history as “outstanding!”
Gilberts Blackpool was prompted to check its records following its latest attainment of 25 years’ service. Consequently, it found that currently almost one quarter of Gilberts’ employees have been with the Lancashire manufacturer at least 20 years.
Managing director, Jonathan Haslam, explained that the nature of modern business has changed so much that it is increasingly rare to stay at one company for all of your working life. Therefore, he described it as “outstanding” that so many staff remain with Gilberts, year after year.
Gilberts’ most recent ‘silver server’, Alastair McGowan offered an explanation and states that they had remained in the business due to the honesty and integrity of the board and an air of friendliness throughout the company.
Gilberts is seeing significant growth in business due to the level of staff commitment – to the extent that it has had to extend its 80,000 sq ft head office, engineering and R&D facility. Almost 10% more space is being added for manufacturing and warehousing to accommodate a growing, international order book.
From design to formation of dyes to manufacture, the company is unique in undertaking all aspects of its production in house, enabling it to give clients the reassurance of quality control whether off the shelf or a bespoke design. The entirety of which was designed and built using internal expertise, unique with its own advanced test centre.
