Futurebuild announces acquisition of Ecobuild

  • 23 Feb 2017

Ecobuild Brand Director, Martin Hurn, set up Futurebuild Events Ltd, which has now announced that it has acquired Ecobuild from UBM.

The acquisition was made by Martin Hurn, aiming to take the event back to its roots and make it more entrepreneurial under independent ownership.

Hurn commented that the acquisition is an exciting opportunity that will ensure the event truly has the flexibility to work as closely as possible with industry and focus on the most important products, trends and issues.

He is hoping to take the show back to its roots by putting the spotlight on true innovation and debate around fundamental industry issues.

Former owner and organiser of Ecobuild, UBM, agreed to sell the show to Futurebuild after a review of its assets and partnerships.

The 2017 show will offer the same investment in themes, features and format, as well as the same exhibitors, speakers and contributing partners, Hurn added.

The event will continue to be seen as the industry platform for driving discussion and debate on the major issues shaping the built environment long into the future, with the renewed vision and drive made possible by the acquisition, he concluded.
