Durapipe HTA pipework has been utilised by a new luxury care home being constructed in Woking for the domestic hot and cold water services.
Streets Heath is a luxury new two-storey retirement complex comprising 60 bedrooms, alongside a variety of communal living, dining and laundry areas, due for completion in August 2017.
The developer, Hamberley Developments, required a reliable pipework system for the domestic hot and cold water system and Hamberley tasked mechanical engineers J&B Hopkins to deliver an effective solution.
J&B Hopkins has successfully used Durapipe HTA for the last 12 years and had no reservations about turning to the specialist hot and cold water pipework system for this project.
Durapipe HTA has been installed, in sizes up to 63mm, to transport water from the plant room on the ground floor along the corridor runs before dropping down to feed each individual room.
Neil Harding from J&B Hopkins commented that in order to minimise the risks associated with theft, the company always look to reduce the amount of copper installed on projects. Therefore, Durapipe systems have been used for more than 12 years, successfully, and HTA was no different on Streets Heath, he added.
Specially designed for domestic hot and old water services, Durapipe HTA is a C-PVC pipework system. With a lightweight nature, combined with quick and easy solvent weld jointing technique, the products offers installed cost savings, compared with copper alternatives.
Furthermore, the limescale and corrosion resistant properties of HTA also ensure it maintains its performance over the lifetime of the system with minimal maintenance requirements.
