Advanced glazing systems supplier, Wrightstyle, completed a project in the capital’s West End theatre Land.
The contract exemplifies how fire-rated steel glazing systems can work alongside non-fire rated system without any discernible difference between them.
The Shaftesbury Avenue contract was for the supply to JPJ Installations Limited, Braintree of fire-rated curtain walling for a refurbished office building. Some 280m2 of the SR60 system was supplied by Wrightstyle for over 95 different frame assembles, comprising fire rating specifications of either EI60 or E60.
Large radius heads on the ground floor arches complicated the contract, and with Wrightstyle’s advanced systems having to seamlessly match with other non-related aluminium areas.
A residential project in Wigmore Street is currently being completed by Wrightstyle, with more contracts underway on London’s bus and Underground network. The company also completed a major refurbishment of Carlow House last year, featuring in Lord Sugar’s The Apprentice.
Wrightstyle’s managing director, Tim Kempster said the company has enormous flexibility in being able to accommodate different thicknesses of glass in different configurations. Therefore it can design, fabricate and install complete facades, or integrate advanced glazing areas with non-fire areas, he added.
