Stroma building for the future with BIM Certification

  • 14 Mar 2017

Stroma Certification is aiming to support the construction industry in achieving compliance with Government requirements for Building Information Modelling as it launches a new BIM Certification scheme and BIM Foundations training course.

Designed to up skill project managers, Stroma’s new BIM services are aiming to help the supply chain to understand the principles and practical application of Building Information Modelling.

Contractors, sub-contractors and businesses with project management responsibilities are provided with formal certification from the BIM Certification scheme. The BIM Foundations training course provides an overview of BIM theory, the roadmap for BIM integration and advice about how delegates can become certified.

The training course is intended to instruct candidates on their particular responsibilities during the planning, construction and operational phases of an asset to achieve BIM compliance, following the Government’s decision to make BIM Level 2 a mandated standard on all projects funded by the Treasury.

BIM challenges the construction industry and offers a number of potential benefits to building owners, contractors and the rest of the supply chain. The creation of a central store of data about any asset allowing all parties to contribute information in a common format, enabling clarity and reliability of information at all stages, increasing efficiency and reducing project costs.

BIM Certification and Training will allow many construction industry businesses to compete more effectively in the industry with potentially very positive effects on their bottom line.

Stroma was named Certification Body of the Year in August 2016, by the National Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards, recognising the company’s commitment to adaptation.

The launch of BIM Certification and BIM Foundations training demonstrates Stroma’s ability to evolve in order to provide opportunities to it’s members and the construction industry.

Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Ferguson said Stroma Certification has a responsibility to prepare and educate the industry about these changes and out BIM Certification and training services offer an affordable and accessible route to compliance via it’s expert team.
