Geberit’s newly expanded logistics centre in operation

  • 21 Mar 2017

The Geberit Group has expanded the capacity of its logistics centre in the Southern German town of Pfullendorf, enabling customer orders to be fulfilled with maximum efficiency.

Around 40million Euros have been invested in storage, order picking and dispatch operation, expanding the company’s existing logistics centre enabling Geberit to continue supplying products to its customers efficiently and reliably.

A concept for the storage of pipes of up to six metres long has been implemented, as part of the expansion project, with new automated storage areas now in operation. Consequently, the Geberit Mapress piping range can now be delivered directly from Pfullendorf.

The logistics centre now spans 60,000 metres and includes an automated small-parts warehouse, a new high-bay warehouse, a processing area with fully automated workstations and the expansion of the shipping area.

The situation of the logistics centre allows Geberit to supply products to its customers in the most economically and ecologically viable way. At the production plant, goods are bundled together and then transported via trucks to Pfullendorf. Automated and co-ordinated processes there ensure that the delivery of products is on time and reliable.
