Webinar looking at alternative uses for bricks now available online

  • 23 Mar 2017

A recording of Lucideon’s latest construction webinar, Alternative Uses for Bricks in Structure Work: Moving Beyond Thin Brick, is now available online.

Streamed live on 16th March 2017, the webinar focuses on the need to adopt a wider approach and perspective when using bricks in construction in order to ensure the brick industry is sustainable.

Hosted by Dr Geoff Edgell, director and construction principal consultant, Lucideon, the webinar looks at how bricks could be used in alternative construction applications. It also looks at introducing highly perforated clay blocks into the UK market.

Dr Edgell commented: “I was delighted with the attendance and audience engagement, given such a niche topic. Having said that, brick manufacturing is a large sector and the need to diversify is one that I think people appreciate. [I] hope that this will begin to highlight how it can be done and perhaps even spark other ideas.”

Lucideon is an international materials development and commercialisation organisation that provides analysis and testing services to a range of industries.

Lucideon’s construction team has dedicated testing facilities in the UK and the US, designed to solve material and product development and testing challenges, to help clients optimise product performance.
