Gatwick Airport is light and secure with Kalwall

  • 3 Apr 2017

Kalwall has provided the required security and lighting at the long Pier 1 which runs alongside the baggage system and gates at Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal Building, whilst being discreet when viewed from the outside.

Line-of-sight protection is possible with Kalwall, as well as maintaining privacy for building occupants while bathing the interior with diffused daylighting regardless of the weather. In addition, it can be manufactured for blast resistant applications.

Not only does Kalwall provide security through its visual protection, but also through its strength. Access through wall or roof lights can be denied while fire and chemicals will not affect its surface, with its heavy duty impact resistance properties.

Kalwall eliminates the need for blinds, curtains or solar control and even on cloudy days, the interior is flooded with natural daylight, meaning less artificial lighting. Plus, with high insulation, energy costs are reduced. The standard Kalwall 70mm thick panel offers insulation up to 0.28W/m2K – equivalent to a cavity filled solid wall.
