GGF announces seminar programme and anniversary celebrations for the FIT Show

The Glass and Glazing Federation has announced its programme for the FIT Show 2017 between the 23rd – 25th May at the Birmingham NEC.

The Federation will host a series of presentations, seminars and videos, as well as an exclusive 40th anniversary party on the exhibition’s “Big Tuesday”, where the show will be open until 8pm. The celebrations will include live music, entertainment, free canapés and drinks from 4:30pm and will be open to all FIT Show attendees.

Commenting on the event, GGF Director of Marketing and Communications, James Lee, commented: “Our stand at the FIT Show will reflect our 40th anniversary year with stunning graphics taken from the historic timeline we’ve recently installed at our London head office. At The FIT Show our Members will also be invited to take full advantage of the hospitality in our special ‘Life Begins at 40’ Members lounge.

The FIT Show is a perfect opportunity to celebrate our 40th anniversary with the industry, and we are looking forward to welcoming both Members and non-Members for a few drinks and some fun entertainment!”

GGF seminar programme

The GGF’s extensive seminar programme will include three topical presentations from GGF experts on home improvement, technical and health and safety:

23rd May (12:10 – 12:40pm) – Don’t get mad! Get even!

Brian Smith, Director of GGF Home Improvement explains how the GGF’s conciliation process can turn a nightmare into a dream.

24th May (12:10 – 12:40pm) – A guide to glazing in conservation areas

Presentation by Russell Day, GGF Technical Officer, on installing glazing in conservation areas. The talk covers the planning framework, the process with local planning officers and the work the GGF Heritage Window Group is doing to change hearts and minds on an issue that’s costing installers millions of pounds each year.

25th May (12:10 – 12:40pm) – Accident will happen! But why risk it?

GGF Director of Health and Safety Phil Pinnington discusses why more company directors are being fined and in some cases imprisoned for negligence. Phil advises how companies can easily avoid the worst case scenarios.
