Forma ‘aerofoil’ shaped column casings from Encasement have been specified for Tetrosyl’s new Rochdale headquarters, being used to conceal the building’s structural columns in the extensive reception and showroom areas.
Tetrosyl, Europe’s largest manufacturer and supplier of car care products, recently invested £3 million transforming an eight-storey former tax office into its new HQ.
An important part of the refurbishment was the creation of a spacious new reception area, which demonstrates key products, and showcases its long involvement with motorsport.
The design of the entrance foyer needed to accommodate a number of existing concrete structural columns, which Tetrosyl decided to emphasise by turning them into a feature, using elliptical aerofoil shaped casings from Encasement.
Manufactured from 3mm brushed aluminium, a total of eight column casings from the Forma range were designed, manufactured and installed by Encasement.
The column casings measure 590mm wide and 1,575mm long and range in height from 3 metres at the rear of the reception area, up to 5 metres at the front where they flank the main entrance doors.
The column casings were manufactured using slightly different profiles in order to accommodate the differing heights and locations. Three of the casings also incorporated a stepped design, to allow for a change in ceiling height.
Encasement’s Managing Director, Martin Taylor, commented: “During our 10 year history we have been involved and a diverse range of prestige projects and Tetrosyl’s HQ is one of the most striking, as it demonstrates how a unique column casing design can not only provide a practical solution for covering structural supports, but also add to the quality of the finished interior.”
