Protan supply membrane solution for multi-million property

  • 4 May 2017

Latchmore Roofing chose Protan single ply membrane for a £multi-million property at Brooklands Quay, Southampton, overlooking the Hamble estuary and The Solent.

Latchmore was specified to undertake work on the roof of the project and the Protan SE 1.6mm single ply membrane was chosen to weatherproof five roofs and two balconies on the main building.

The membranes achieve durability for up to 30 years and air leakage is controlled in line with the latest Building Regulations.

Protan’s technical manager Sam Bond explains: “It’s a very exposed location where the facades are going to be subjected to higher than average levels of aggressive substances and wind.”

The Protan membrane has been mechanically fixed over insulation on a ply deck on all flat roofs and balconies on the project; Latchmore has further interfaced further lead and tile work on pitched roofs on the property.

Protan roofing solutions have been independently tested and certified by the BBA as having an expected durability in excess of 30 years. A full support service, from NBS specification and in-house CAD design through to technical advice and training is provided from Protan UK’s Warrington office.
