Senior Architectural Systems’ PURe range of aluminium windows has been specified for use on several new projects in the student accommodation sector.
Designed to meet the demands of the student accommodation market, Senior’s thermally-efficient PURe aluminium windows can help to reduce a building’s overall environmental impact, whilst contributing to a reduction in heating costs.
Expanded polyurethane foam (PUR) has been used to create an enhanced thermal barrier, which contributes to the system’s acoustic performance. Meanwhile, its aluminium frame offers a durable, low-maintenance solution that is both secure and aesthetically pleasing.
The system has the capacity to achieve U-values as low as 0.71W/m2 K when calculated as a commercial CEN standard window.
The range has recently been extended to include the PURe aluminium door, which is available as folding and sliding.
PURe aluminium windows have been specified for use on a range of student accommodation projects throughout the UK.
The University of Hull’s Courtyard scheme is one example. The development, which was designed by GSS Architecture, comprises five separate blocks of accommodation, based around two central courtyards.
Glass and Framing Solutions (GFS) was contracted to deliver the extensive fenestration package, which also features Senior’s thermally efficient SF52 aluminium curtain walling.
Two new, Sheffield-based student residences have also benefited from the company’s PURe windows.
Continental Installations has fabricated and fitted the systems for the Sharman Court scheme on Broad Lane, while Danum Windows has carried out the installation for the Printworks. The latter also benefits from SCW curtain walling, which has been installed throughout the six-storey building.
