Abloy UK has launched an updated version of its SMARTair access control system with the addition of a keypad functionality, allowing users to quickly and easily program an individual key-code or card on the unit itself.
The SMARTair keypad controls allow the unit to be programmed with an additional code or card in under a minute and is ideal for hospitals and offices.
The new SMARTair escutcheon can be incorporated into existing systems, with the adaptable design making it suitable for a range of installations.
The standard package will be made up of an Abloy EL 160 Lock Case, an Abloy SMARTair Escutcheon with Keypad Unit, and an ABLOY NOVEL patented cylinder.
The EL 160 provides security by re-deadlocking every time the door locks, while the SMARTair handle will allow egress from the inside with the outside handle remaining disabled until a valid code or entry credential is provided. The patented cylinder maintains a secure mechanical form of entry at all times.
The units can be easily integrated into a PROTEC2 CLIQ system as they will also work with standard MiFare technology.
Stuart Courcoux, Product Manager at Abloy UK, explains that the addition of the keypad activation takes the already popular SMARTair access control system to the next level of versatility.
