CMS Window Systems has been presented with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Sustainable Development 2017.
Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Dunbartonshire, Rear Admiral Michael Gregory OBE, the Queen’s personal representative, presented the award to Gerald McSkimming, Operations Director of CMS Window Systems.
The event took place at the company’s Castlecary HQ near Glasgow. The award recognised achievements in terms of sustainable business development and the success of ensuring that environmental, social and economic sustainable practices underpin every aspect of the business.
Lord-Lieutenant Michael Gregory OBE said: “It’s been a great pleasure to come to CMS to present the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation today, to a company that has been a tremendous innovator not just in sustainability, but very effectively in providing youth employment.”
CMS Window Systems provides door, window and facade products and services which help reduce the carbon footprint of homes and buildings, whilst at the same time operating in a resource-efficient way that generates virtually no landfill waste due to its in-house recycling facilities.
“We’re delighted to receive this Queen’s Award for Enterprise today, which I’ve accepted on behalf of the whole team in recognition of their continued hard work,” said Gerald McSkimming, Operations Director at CMS Window Systems.
Gerald adds: “We’re looking forward to further growth as our customer base seeks to meet ever more demanding energy and CO2 reduction goals.”
The company has a strategy to achieve social and economic sustainability. The Living Wage employer holds the Investors in People Gold standard and Investors in Young People accreditation and has become renowned for creating regular employment opportunities for local young people through Modern Apprenticeships.
