Prater has delivered a hot melt package, featuring Radmat products, for the Angel Court office development in central London.
The office building, which spans 300,000 square feet, was designed by Fletcher Priest. It accommodates five roof gardens, in addition to a public area which offers a range of new restaurants.
Prater was contracted to provide a hot melt roofing package, with strong waterproofing and adhesive properties. Radmat’s PermaQuik PQ6100, a seamless Hot Melt Monolithic roofing system membrane, was specified for application.
Radmat’s ProTherm QuantumPLUS insulation was installed to the roof terraces to achieve the project’s required U-value. Its reduced thickness enabled Prater to meet both thermal and Part M access requirements without compromising aesthetics, whilst the rubberised, self-healing PermaQuik system offers BBA-certified durability.
Radmat was on-hand to provide Prater with technical advice, onsite application assessments, and necessary training.
The company utilised a holding area at West Smithfields, which enabled its team to address the logistic challenges of working on a site with such a small footprint and limited storage space.
Prater was also tasked with the development of Angel Court’s Risk Assessment Method Statement. The team established a health and safety strategy that encouraged communication between installation teams and managers, enabling operatives to suggest different methods of improvement.
Prater liaised with other trades working on the project to ensure safe access.
