Polyflor was recently selected to refurbish a campus centre at De Montfort University in Leicester.
The campus centre is the home of De Montfort’s Student Union and a hub for student life, including shops, cafes, break out areas and offices.
Circulation areas, corridors and staircases in the student union building has had high performance Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles installed in Cool Grey Concrete.
The heavy commercial Expona Design luxury vinyl tile collection is available in 28 wood, stone and abstract effects and has a 3.0mm gauge, 0.7mm wear layer. The collection also benefits from Polyflor’s exclusive and robust PUR polyurethane reinforcement which is cross linked and UV cured to make cleaning easy.
Milly lane’s cafe, The Coffee Hut and Sulets student accommodation office and the student union, on the other hand, feature the wood effect Affinity255 heavy commercial luxury vinyl tiles in Seasoned Grey Oak, Cracked White Oak and Dappled Oak.
Polyflor’s Expona Commercial, Classic Mystique, Polysafe Apex and Polysafe Verona ranges were also installed in the toilet areas, restaurant kitchens and the student union’s music venue. Westcotes Flooring installed all flooring under main contractors Stephnell.
All polyflor flooring contains recycled material and is also 100% recyclable via the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme. The environmental credentials of the Polyflor products used on this project achieve a BRE A+ rating for major use areas in the education sector and Indoor Air Comfort Gold, assuring that VOC emissions are below any globally determined levels.
