Polyflor provides safety, hygiene and durability for Welsh care home

  • 8 Sep 2017

Carpets ’N’ Carpets Ltd recently installed the Polyflor Affinity255 PUR wood effect luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor at a care home facility in Wales.

The Tegfan Resource Centre, a 49 bed aged care residential home operated by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council in Aberdare, had the vinyl tiles fitted in the dining area of the care home.

The Dappled Oak design from the Affinity255 PUR collection includes tan and honey tones in a smooth oak plank pattern. It also plays a significant role in creating a safe, comfortable and dementia-friendly environment with a harmonious feel that allows residents to feel at home.

The 2mm gauge Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tile collection features 16 authentically reproduced wood plank designs in a wide plank format developed for use in heavy traffic commercial environments.

The flooring is durable and features cross linked and UV cured polyurethane reinforcement, protecting the floor and supporting a simple cleaning regime for hygiene critical areas.

The flooring contains around 40% recycled material and is 100% recyclable via the Recofloor scheme, thereby ensuring the product meets key environmental and sustainability credentials.

Polyflor’s Specialist Care brochure presents new dementia-friendly flooring principles developed in collaboration with the University of Salford’s School of the Built Environment and Institute for Dementia. The brochure can be ordered on the Polyflor website, as well as PUR samples, or by calling the Polyflor Samples Direct Hotline on 0161 767 2551.
