The Glass and Glazing Federation‘s annual Members’ Day took place last week at Glaziers Hall on 29 September.

GGF President John Agnew welcomed guests to the event which saw tribute paid to the GGF Founder Members as it is the Federation’s 40th Anniversary.

Presentations throughout the event covered the economy, political landscape and brand storytelling, all filled with information and insights.

Screen Shot 2017-10-10 at 11.44.46GGF Group Chief Executive Phil Pluck delivered a speech picking up on a few recent misleading headlines, attacking the issues head on and commending the GGF Board for showing not only real spine but also for lending their experience and knowledge to take the GGF forward to the next phase of its development.

Phil also outlined the GGF’s long term strategy, mission and future. He also highlighted that not all current issues are a simple matter of right or wrong and GGF must guide and assist members rather than threatening them with expulsion.

Declan Curry moderated the Members’ Debate which concluded with questions from the audience. Questions covered the likes of the GGF’s new management structure, industry training pipelines, and the challenge of improving Member engagement.

Finally, after lunch the President toasted the GGF’s 40th Anniversary before making special presentations to two long-serving GGF Members: Brian Baker, former GGF President and interim Chief Executive; and Brian Waldron, Chairman of the GGF Standards Committee.

GGF Group Chief Executive Phil Pluck comments on the day: “I was delighted to see so many Members from different sectors attend and enjoy themselves. My thanks also to the GGF Group staff for their contribution to the event and also to Declan and Anthony who proved to be superb guest speakers. I would also like to thank our sponsors, FENSA, BFRC, RISA, GGFI, and Borough IT for supporting the event.”
