Heritage Buildings Seminar; Exova & RSK style

  • 13 Oct 2017

Timber experts Exova BM TRADA and leading construction and environmental consultants RSK are teaming up for a seminar on the challenges and obstacles encountered when conserving and regenerating heritage buildings.

The free, one-day event is recognised by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) for continuous professional development (CPD).

The seminar will be held on Thursday 9 November at the Royal Geographical Society in London.

The assessment and inspection of buildings within the UK’s historic built environment present unique technical challenges for conservation experts undertaking renovation.

EXOVA

Construction professionals need to be aware of these challenges, and through a series of talks by leading technical experts, attendees will gain an appreciation of the issues involved in conserving and regenerating historic buildings and how to overcome them.

Case studies and examples of excellence on structural assessment will be to the fore, with topics including renovation, fire and conservation.

The seminar will be brought to participants by geomaterials scientists, conservators, geophysicists, timber technical consultants and structural engineers.

Topics to be covered include the role of Historic England, the structural assessment of historic buildings and their regeneration and the role of fire assessment to name just a few!
