Structura works with RAICO to open the way for Kalwall

  • 3 Nov 2017

Structura UK is developing an adaptation of the THERM+ curtain walling system with RAICO Bautechnik GmbH.

The framing system enables users to conceal fixings and screws and offers the flexibility to use a frame in aluminium, timber or steel, and this adaptation will accommodate Kalwall.

This new system comes following intensive research and development at RAICO’s in-house testing facility in Bavaria, using the RAICO THERM+ 56 A-I system with a standard Kalwall 70mm panel.

The newly adapted THERM+ will be installed for the first time at the Japanese Moshimo Skylight Restaurant in Brighton, as part of the cantilevered restaurant extension suspended several storeys above Bartholomew Square. The system will make use of the versatile stick frame by using steel, aluminium and timber backed curtain wall.

Steve Rogers, Sales Manager at RAICO UK comments: “Between ourselves, Structura and Kalwall we have modified our frames to create a fantastic system offering huge versatility and scope.”
