Changing Places can make you go places

  • 4 Dec 2017

Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens have become the latest brand to open a Changing Places assisted accessible toilet, supplied by Britain’s leading provider in the facility’s provision, Closomat.

The UK’s largest privately-owned wildlife collection this year complimented the accessibility features already in place there, joining the likes of JD Wetherspoon, Alton Towers and Moto in benefitting from Closomat’s product.

Claire Haynes, from Closomat, commented on the popularity of Changing Places: “Venues regularly report to us that visitors leave comments to the effect that a Changing Places meant they could now visit, and others saying that now that they know we have it, they will definitely return.”

Latest ‘Tourism for All’ figures show 1 in 5 people in the UK is disabled. Parties including a disabled person contribute £14billion a year to tourism and travel industries in the UK.

At 3m by 4m, a Changing Places toilet brings more space than a typical wheelchair-accessible toilet, which can accommodate the wheelchair user and up to two carers, as well as a ceiling track hoist, adult-sized height adjustable changing bench and privacy screen.

The lack of a facility such as this could result in potential users either cutting short their visit or postponing their visit altogether.
