AkzoNobel Decorative Paints UK have enjoyed plenty of award success recently, as they scooped both the Sustainable Innovation Award and Customer Service Award at the British Coatings Federation Awards 2017.
As well as this, AkzoNobel’s Dulux Academy received a Highly Commended Certificate for demonstrating Excellence in Training.
The British Coatings Federation (BCF) is the only UK trade association that is representative of decorative, industrial and powder coatings, wall covering and printing ink manufacturers.
Its yearly awards honour organisational brilliance and showcase the achievements of BCF members and students of the Coatings Training Institute (CTI).
The Sustainable Innovation Award went AkzoNobel’s way for its pioneering new Ashington paint manufacturing facility. Recognised as the world’s most advanced sustainable paint plant, the Northumberland base was a deserving winner in a category that rewards industry leading innovations having the most positive impact on sustainability.
On top of this, AkzoNobel received the Customer Service Award for Transformation of a Paints Business, recognising the increasing significance of customer service in the coatings industry.
Alison Lawrie, Customer Experience Lead at AkzoNobel Decorative Paints UK, commented: “The way we have transformed our business to really focus on the end to end customer experience has delivered fantastic results.
“To be recognised as a leader in this area is something we are immensely proud of.”
AkzoNobel also collected a Highly Commended certificate for Excellence in Training for its Dulux Academy; this recognises organisations who have shown an excellence in training and has resulted in substantial business development.
Officially launched in March last year, Dulux Academy is the UK’s first dedicated facility for professionals in the domestic and commercial decoration industry.
The Academy features a variety of courses designed to help decorators of all abilities, from apprentice to experienced specialist, develop their application technique and design knowledge.
