Improved physical properties will be assured, as Axion Polymers has re-formulated its recycled ABS polymer product.
This will also result in a superior surface finish, suitable for all type of applications, ranging from corner supports in window frames to furniture component parts.
Customer response has led the plastics recycler, based in Manchester, to heavily invest in re-compounding its 100% recycled Axpoly® ABS 52 raw material, delivering a higher impact strength and a shinier, deeper-black finish.
Continuing process development, with a big significance on purification and accurate quality analysis, is undoubtedly a substantial reason for the improved characteristics of the polymer.
This is according to Axion’s Product Development Technologist Mark Keenan.
“This has been confirmed by one of our customers who said it made a ‘massive difference’ in a visually-critical product,” he commented.
“Another customer who sampled our new ABS grade told us ‘it works for us’ and wanted their 100-tonne order delivered as soon as possible.”
The new ABS polymer provides a more consistent and better surface finish and is ideal for durable goods where more strength and impressive visuals are essential in terms of customer requirements.
Applications include office and home furniture products and assembly parts for the construction sector, as well as a wide range of components for electrical goods.
Axion are always seeking customer feedback to keep the business moving forward and continue the drive of growth.
Company Director Keith Freegard says more investment in staff and product development will be made in due course.
“Our next priority is to focus on getting higher impact strengths for even tougher applications,” Keith commented.
“Having experienced record sales in October and November, we’re looking forward to carrying on our profitable growth trend. So watch this space from early 2018 when we expect to add more grades to our growing ABS range.”
