Charity dinner featuring CMS raises £30,000

  • 7 Dec 2017

A whole host of Lanarkshire businesses, including CMS Window Systems, have played their part in raising £30,000 for the Lanarkshire Beatson, as part of a charity gala dinner.

The money raised for the major, new cancer treatment centre, in memory of Lanarkshire businessman Owen Barrett, is sure to make a significant difference to those affected by cancer in Lanarkshire.

Activities that took place included the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of fantastic prizes, including original pieces of art by leading Scottish contemporary artists, plus a whole host of holiday packages and event tickets.

These occurred in a live auction, hosted by comedian and presenter, Des Clarke.

The money raised will provide funds for the state-of-the-art, £22m Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, part of Airdrie’s Monklands General Hospital.

The Lanarkshire Beatson delivers incredible cancer treatment, as well as wellbeing and support services to the thousands affected by cancer in the local community.

Based in the county, CMS Window Systems is one of Scotland’s leading window, door and curtain walling designers, manufacturers and installers and a keen fundraiser for the Lanarkshire Beatson, with many of its staff having a link with the facility.

A key supply chain partners, Saint-Gobain, was the main sponsor for the evening.

Andy Kerr, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CMS Window Systems commented: “We’re delighted to have been involved in the Lanarkshire Business Community Charity Gala Dinner and to be able to play a part in ensuring the Lanarkshire Beatson can continue its tremendous work supporting cancer patients and their families throughout Lanarkshire.”
