Pik-a-Pak pick Steadfast for safety guidance

  • 22 Dec 2017

Pik-a-Pak have had Steadfast‘s KeeLine® lifeline solution supplied and fitted, ensuring employees who access the roofs will have sufficient fall protection.

Pik-a-Pak, situated in Ipswich, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of Small Domestic Appliances and White Goods, counting brands such as Bosch, Russell Hobbs, Samsung, Panasonic, Tefal, Dualit and Vax amongst their clientele.

A more advanced access system was sought after by Pik-a-Pak, in order to facilitate the cleaning of the gutters.

Warehouse Manager, Daniel Clapton contacted Steadfast, with the working at height safety specialist carrying out a complete site survey before recommending a suitable system.

The 200Lm of KeeLine®, a horizontal lifeline system, was suggested, with work needing to be done with zero disruption to the day-to-day business.

Steadfast’s work was quick, efficient and safe, delivering the project on time and with minimum site disruption.

Daniel commented: “Overall, the whole project went very well. The KeeLine® system that Steadfast has installed provides us with the assurance that anyone accessing the roof will be safe.”

Once a system such as KeeLine® has been installed, it has to be properly maintained and examined at least once a year. Steadfast explained this process to Daniel and he is now responsible for doing this.

KeeLine® is a wire-based horizontal lifeline system that provides continuous fall arrest/restraint protection. Fit for use in areas where guardrails are not suitable, the system allows for safe work on roofs, offering a close-to-invisible solution.

Installed as a permanent lifeline system, uninterrupted access for up to three users across the whole roof is assured, meaning they can move freely around the surface.
