A new city German library has been fitted with CLIQ® locking and access control systems from ASSA ABLOY, assuring the security technology is as modern as the architecture of the impressive building.
The library, situated in Stuttgart, designed by Korean architect Eun Young Yi, features a double façade with glass bricks und entrances on all four sides.
ASSA ABLOY’S security system had to meet certain specifications, including the building entrances having to be equipped with electronic components that could be centrally managed that could integrate interior doors using mechatronic systems where needed.
The high security CLIQ® locking system has featured throughout key areas of the building. Consisting of an integrated chip for the key and locking cylinder, the battery-powered CLIQ® key is unique and can be programmed individually for each user.
Andreas Wagener, Managing Director Sales and Marketing at ASSA ABLOY Germany, spoke about the benefits of the CLIQ® system, one of these being operators having control over their keys.
He referred to the impressive flexibility in the situation of a key being lost or when a change is needed and how access authorisations can be removed individually by reprogramming locking cylinders.
The library is home to half a million books, with newspapers, magazines, sheet music and so much more available to visitors.
The opening week saw some high profile visits, including philosopher Wilhelm Schmid and writer Hatice Akyün.
