Washrooms should be a key part of any commercial or office refurbishment, but refurbishments often raise specific challenges for contractors.
The main challenge when refurbishing washrooms is having to work around the constraints of the existing layout or reconfigure it completely.
Unisex superloos, which are self-contained cubicles including a toilet, vanity unit, and hand drying facilities, are an ideal way to maximise on space as part of an office refurbishment. The cubicles can be designed in different sizes and configurations to meet the necessary Document M regulations and DDA requirements and a variety of designs options are available.
Another challenge is getting a new washroom to reflect a building’s heritage when refurbishing an older Listed building. Washroom Washroom recently completed a refurbishment on Clarges Street which reflected the oak veneer decor in the rest of the building and the heritage of nearby Savile Row.
Another project saw the installation of new washrooms at the historic Carpenters’ Hall, using a mix of real wood veneers to reflect the different varieties and types of wood used in the rest of the building’s interior.
Finally, refurbishments can create complex access issues and often require working around other trades, which can create issues. Constructing washrooms off-site before delivering to the site in time for installation, offers the ideal solution.
Washroom Washroom works closely with architects and other contracts to ensure any challenges are overcome when refurbishing washrooms.
