VELUX has launched MyDaylight, an app which allows homeowners to design their own room or renovation project by simply choosing parameters such as floor dimensions, roof height and ceiling pitch.
Further customisation can be undertaken by adding windows, floor and wall finishes, the room’s location, and so much more. After roughly ten minutes, they receive a digital simulation which can be viewed in 360 degrees or virtual reality, and gives a life-like recreation of the room and the changing effects of daylight inside.
Grant Sneddon, Daylight Expert at VELUX, talked about the benefits of the app, saying it ‘brings homeowners one step closer to the home they have envisioned’, with the 360 degrees and virtual reality visualisations making it both ‘tangible and achievable’.
The app provides a unique opportunity for homeowners to play around with different renovation options, and given it is mobile, the service is available anywhere and at anytime.
The whole concept of digital becoming more commonplace is something Grant Sneddon appreciates, saying: “The search for inspiration is truly moving into the online space. With this app we meet our customers where they are. Homeowners can investigate different renovation ideas wherever they are – on the bus, the train or at home.”
Endless design scenarios can be conjured up using the app; time and imagination are the only limits!
