Aggregate Industries has released its latest phase of funding for the local community, centred in the company’s HQ in Bardon Hill, Leicestershire.

The construction materials supplier started the Bardon Community Fund last year, with the commitment to donate a sum of £400,000 to help local community schemes for residents of Bardon Hill Quarry over the next decade.

£27,680 has been given to local organisations in this most recent phase, which follows on from the first amount of funding earlier in the year.

This went to Markfield Parish Council to aid the development of a new community park and Copt Oak Church for building maintenance.

This most recent allocation of funding will be shared amongst three local organisations, including £4,080 to the Rutland Wildlife Trust to replace tools, PPE (personal protective equipment) and other equipment.

Other causes to benefit are North West Leicestershire District Council, receiving £9,800 for a new picnic and willow play area at Forest Adventures and Bardon Sports Club, with £13,800 set to help better its disabled access and patio seating area.

Kirsten Hannaford-Hill, Estates Surveyor at Aggregate Industries, said the company were ‘pleased’ to release its next phase of the Bardon Community Fund, with the organisations involved offering ‘important and valuable services’ to the local area, which Aggregate are happy to play its part in ‘ensuring they can remain doing so.’
