Double acquisition for ASSA ABLOY

  • 6 Feb 2018

ASSA ABLOY has announced a double acquisition, as part of it taking control of the Progress Ventures Group (“Dale & Excel”), the leading suppliers of architectural hardware to builder’s merchants in the country.

Dale Hardware and Excel Architectural Hardware have been acquired by ASSA ABLOY, who boast a 47,000-strong workforce and sales near £6.4 billion.

In Britain, ASSA ABLOY is best known for the Yale and UNION brands, with its Head Office and main manufacturing centre in Willenhall, West Midlands.

Given the strong commercial synergies that already exists between the companies, this acquisition is sure to create opportunities for both businesses to add greater value to its customers by offering a wider innovative product range.

Both Dale & Excel will carry on operating as autonomous businesses as part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, maintaining the strong commercial and operational team that has made the business as successful as it is today. Furthermore, existing customer contact points remain unaltered.

Neil Vann, Market Region Manager and Managing Director of ASSA ABLOY UK, said he was ‘very pleased’ to welcome Dale & Excel into the ASSA ABLOY Group, praising their ‘extensive product portfolio, strong track record of growth and new innovative product development.’

Established in 1974 with headquarters near Leeds, Dale employs roughly 70 employees; 2018 sales are estimated to reach around the £19 million mark.
