Kingspan Group plc has carried out a $10 million investment in Invicara, a developer of transformative software solutions in the built environment.
This investment is a sure sign Kingspan is deeply committed to developing a solution for digitalisating the construction industry.
Invicara has created solutions which work with Building Information Modelling technology, with BIM providing detailed digital representations of buildings, meaning time saving, inexpensive collaboration can take place between those involved in construction projects, namely architects, contractors, engineers and owners.
Working with Kingspan, Invicara’s cloud-based platform will build a new solution featuring design and construction data to start new digital workflows to transform the customer experience.
Louise Foody, Kingspan’s Director of Digital and Brand, described BIM digitilisation as a ‘game changer.’
“At Kingspan, we aim to leverage digital technologies to further align our offerings with our customer’s needs and more efficiently collaborate with owners, designers, and contractors at every stage of the building lifecycle,” she said.
Invicara provides a cloud-based data management solution to help owners and their partners to create a data-rich digital twin of a building, utilising BIM. Invicara is quickly growing this solution worldwide, with significant new capabilities planned for release in 2018.
Anand Mecheri, CEO and Founder of Invicara, spoke of how this partnership with Kingspan opens a new market opportunity for the company, which will allow it to build powerful solutions on the Invicara platform, enabling product manufacturers to partake in the digitalisation of construction.
“From the start, Invicara’s vision has been to improve the value derived from BIM for the entire ecosystem of the built environment, providing an efficient flow of reliable data for a wide range of workflows,” he said.
The latest Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) report shows builders’ merchants’ value sales in October were up +1.2% compared to the same month last year.
