Aggregate

A good culture club with Aggregate

  • 12 Feb 2018

Aggregate Industries has become one of the first companies to join a new sector-wide initiative to promote a culture of Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR).

The FIR programme is a cross-client, cross-contractors, cross-industry programme advocating equality and diversity, developing supreme quality resources whilst training and empowering colleagues to make a substantial change.

The programme, delivered by the Supply Chain Sustainability School and the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA), is receiving funding and support from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

35 other organisations have already put their name on the list, including Network Rail, Balfour Beatty and GRAHAM Construction.

Donna Hunt, Head of Sustainability at Aggregate Industries (above photo), said that, as a founding member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, it is always looking for ways to further support the industry.

“Committing to a culture of FIR simply makes sense; promoting a more inclusive and better working environment for everyone will enable us to capture the business benefits of diversity, including better productivity, increased talent retention, innovation and collaboration.”

She added that Aggregate believes cultural change holds the key to sustainable growth for the construction sector.
