Power of three as Newton make additions to damp proofing system

  • 1 Mar 2018

Kent-based Newton Waterproofing Systems has added three new, BBA certified products to its already substantial Damp Proofing System.

To stop rising damp in new builds, the BBA certified physical damp proof membrane Newton 809-DPC is recommended.

But for instances with remedial rising damp, this process is too costly and
impractical, so Newton 804-DPC is suggested to convert an existing mortar course into a new DPC.

suffering from rising damp, in a building with an internal timber floor.

This high strength damp proofing cream works by diffusing along the mortar course before curing into a breathable and water-repellent barrier that stops the rising damp.

Then there is the matter of re-plastering internally, which is vital for dealing with hygroscopic damp. Therefore, it is used as a salt-resistant render additive that blocks the passage of residual moisture and hygroscopic salts from the underlying masonry to the new internal surface.

Both Newton 804-DPC and Newton 808-RA are also fully certified by the BBA.

Warren Muschialli, MD at Newton Waterproofing Systems, said that being completely independent supplier means they have the freedom to find the best products needed, to create the best solutions and offer them to customers.

He also said the BBA certification on the three new products symbolises the quality of the company’s approach, given it reinforces that its products have been strenuously tested.
