CMS Window Systems has received further recognition for its environmental sustainability achievements by bagging a Scottish Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice 2018.
As well as this, the company has been chosen to represent the UK as a Green World Ambassador in the Green World Awards.
The special presentation ceremony, which took place at the CMS Innovation Hub, was attended by over 40 representatives from Green Apple Award winning businesses across Scotland.
The Innovation Hub was an ideal venue for the awards, given it is a purpose-built educational facility designed to further the application of sustainable building products in homes and buildings.
Furthermore, this award win launches the company onto the global stage; CMS has become a Green World Ambassador, representing Scotland in the Green World Awards 2018 – an environmental awards programme which sees entries from worldwide.
CMS Window Systems’ Chief Operating Officer, David Ritchie (above photo, alongside Environmental Officer Grace Waku), collected the award.
Describing the win as a ‘terrific endorsement’ of the company’s sustainable business strategy, he said: “CMS was built from day one around environmental, social and economic sustainability, at the heart of which is our unique closed-loop recycling guarantee, ensuring our landfill waste is virtually zero and that our new windows and doors are easily recyclable at the end of their lengthy service life.
Talking about becoming a Green World Ambassador and having a paper published in The Green Book, David said it will enable businesses across the globe to learn from its experiences and help them achieve their own environmental best practice ambitions.
