GGF GDPR Awareness Workshop this April

  • 19 Mar 2018

The GGF is running a one-day GDPR Awareness Workshop this April in Birmingham, aimed at helping consumer-facing businesses and GGF members prepare for this incoming legislation.

The GGF has partnered with information, cyber security and data protection specialists Cybercrowd to run this special one-day GDPR workshop this April in Solihull.

The workshop will take place at the Arden Hotel on 11April, where interactive break-out sessions and open discussion forums will be taking place to help companies get up to speed with GDPR and changes they’ll need to make to ensure they are compliant.

Included is a general background to GDPR, plus sections on accountability, legal requirements, the significance of all aspects of data processing, and what to do if you get a subject access request.

On 25th May 2018, the new law comes into effect and will involve almost every business in the UK.

These new rules govern how companies can gather and use personal data, such as names, email addresses, credit card details and more.

It is important to understand the impact these reforms will have on operations, as failure to comply may lead to significant fines.

GGF Head of Membership and Training, Richard Hearn, (pictured) commented: “We appreciate that GGF Members and others in the glass and glazing industry are busy running their businesses, so we wanted to make it easy for consumer-facing companies to get a useful overview of the new GDPR legislation.”

The workshop is free for GGF Members., with non-members able to attend for £245.

GGF Members can nominate the individual or individuals from their business they would like to attend.

This is likely to be popular so bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis, so register your interest in attending by contacting Richard Hearn, Head of Membership and Training at [email protected]
