Aiming high with Aspex doorsets

  • 19 Mar 2018

Aspex is to supply its doorsets to The Atlas, a dynamic living development across London’s prominent skyline.

The architectural ironmongery and doorset specialists will be supplying over 250 of its Novista Riser Steel doorsets to the iconic 38-storey residential tower in Shoreditch,

This consists of 302 apartments, plus a business centre, a gym, a spa and much more.

Aspex worked alongside Mace Construction Ltd and Scott Brownrigg Architects on the project.

Ashley Burberry, Managing Director of Aspex UK, talked about the ‘exciting’ times for the company.

“We’re supplying more and more of our Novista Riser Steel doorsets to renowned projects across London. Our doorsets provide a contemporary look and feel to create a suitable option for modern projects that require a seamless finish,” he said.

Steven Pirks, Architect at Scott Brownrigg Architects, described the Altas building as an ‘innovative design for an innovative area of London’, which is set to become a landmark scheme in Tech City.

He talked about the Twelve architectural ‘blades’ of the residential building, which step down in height to create a slender and sculpted form, emphasising verticality and minimising its impact on the skyline.

“The Aspex Novista Riser Steel doorsets perfectly match this vision for the project due to its minimalistic offering,” he added.

The Novista Riser system comes with either a timber or steel door leaf; ideal for a wide variety of projects, there are single, double, triple, and quadruple combinations available and it can be factory painted to any RAL colour.

The doorsets are good for locations where a very high fire or acoustic rating is needed,

In terms of ratings, they are fire rated to up to FD120 and acoustic rated up to 40dB.
