Wienerberger is to expand its Smeed Dean factory range, with a number of operational changes enhancing its manufacturing capabilities.
The new range includes a brand-new product, the reintroduction of a London Stock brick and Special Shaped Bricks, which can now be manufactured at the factory, something which was previously impossible to do.
The newest addition to the range is the Smeed Dean Mile End Mixture. This is a reclaimed brick where traditional London tones meet a distinctively distressed and natural weathered effect.
Wienerberger has also reintroduced the Smeed Dean Belgrave Yellow following popular customer demand. A traditional plain London Yellow Stock brick, it has a lightly sanded texture, with a soft but clean appearance.
The design of both stock bricks is a showcase Wienerberger’s commitment to preserving the heritage of the traditional brick making process at the historic factory, whilst introducing innovative manufacturing techniques at the same time, ensuring a unique quality with each brick produced.
These innovations have also the production of Special Shaped Bricks at the factory achievable, which can be made and delivered within 10 days of an order being placed, guaranteeing Wienerberger’s clients are serviced more effectively.
The entire Smeed Dean range, along with the Specials, will feature on the Take A Closer Look microsite. Launched last year, it aims to give users an unparalleled look at Wienerberger bricks, with access to vital technical information.
Richard Brown, Category Marketing Manager – Wall, said: “It’s always exciting to launch a new product but to be reintroducing a much-loved design that will satisfy the recent heightened demand we have witnessed is great.
“The new products, combined with the 10-day turnaround of the Special Shaped Bricks, allow us to further our productivity from the Smeed Dean factory and service our customers effectively.”
