The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is set to cover various aspects of fire glazing in a presentation on stand A475 at the FIREX show, taking place on the 19th to 21st June at London ExCel.
Visitors to the stand can expect the presentation, ‘Fire-rated Glazing – Getting It Right, Getting it Wrong’, to cover the importance of glass in the first strategy of a building. With the Grenfell Tower disaster in mind, GGF will also explore how badly non fire-rated glass products react in a fire situation.
In addition, the presentation will highlight the best practice guidance on multiple components of a fire-resistant glazing system and how building contractors, designers, architects and specifiers should combine to achieve the
required fire-performance, and the types of fire rating required including glass, glazing seals and more.
Adrian Blaydon, GGF Technical Officer and Secretary of the Fire Resistant Glazing Group (FRGG) explained “By attending this presentation, you will gain appreciation of the role a buildings fire-resistant glazing plays and how vital it is to combine the appropriate materials along with the correct installation process to certify and achieve the desired fire-resistant rating.”
FIREX visitors will have the opportunity to see the presentation at 16:30 on Wednesday 20th June at the theatre in ExCel London. Register for your free ticket here. To find out more about the FRGG and the GGF’s Fire Resistant Glazing guide please visit the Group web page.
Finally, the first 20 visitors to the GGF stand will also have the chance to win a free hard copy of the newly launched Fire Resistant Glazing Guide (RRP £150).
