Aggregate Industries is continuing its commitment to sustainability by hosting a Supplier Day today.
The company will host suppliers and hauliers from throughout the business prior to World Environment Day, where the focus will be on climate and circular economy related challenges and opportunities.
As one of the founding partners of the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS), Aggregate works with its suppliers and other leading businesses to share best practices and provide guidance to enhance standards of performance across the whole of the construction supply chain.
During the event, Terry Ellis, Sustainable Procurement Manager at Balfour Beatty, will share his thoughts on climate and circular economy issues and how they are tackling it through their supply chain.
The day will see participation from suppliers discussing what sustainable initiatives they have to offer and how the wider supply chain can work together to create a greater impact.
Donna Hunt, Head of Sustainability at Aggregate Industries, said the Supplier Day allows them to better understand the climate related issues that its customers, suppliers and the wider industry faces.
“Together, by sharing our experiences, our challenges and ideas, we can then collaboratively employ technologies and best practice approaches that will benefit everyone by reducing the use of energy, decarbonising the energy supply and managing the on-going costs of energy,” she said.
