Reconomy, the UK’s leading provider of outsourced waste management and recycling services, is to revolutionise the sector with the launch of the waste-industry’s first smartphone app geared towards skip hire waste management.
Called SiteBuddy™, the app will allow Reconomy customers to exchange, off-hire or reorder skips or roll-on, roll-off (roro) containers at the touch of a button.
The waste industry has garnered a reputation for being set in its way in its approach to customer services, with it uncommon to embrace new ways of working. Reconomy is dedicated to pioneering changes and innovations that move the industry forwards, as well as benefitting clients.
SiteBuddy has been specifically designed for use by site personnel and procurement teams, allowing them to react immediately to any on-site issues regarding their waste, as and when they arise, and with no delay regarding having to phone through new orders.
SiteBuddy will work in tandem with Reconomy’s online portal to ensure a complete audit trail.
SiteBuddy is currently being rolled out to existing Reconomy customers within the housebuilding, infrastructure and commercial construction sectors; following this, it will be made available for wider download from Android and iOS app store platforms.
Reconomy Chief Executive, Paul Cox, said: “Whenever we receive feedback from our clients, a common theme is that time is their most precious commodity.
“Consequently, Reconomy’s ongoing objective is to invest in new technologies to reduce the burden of administration, thereby giving our customers more time to focus on other priorities.
“SiteBuddy will allow our customer to react immediately to any on-site issues concerning their waste management. If they identify a need for additional skips or roro containers, or they need exchanging, they can inform us then and there through the app, in a matter of seconds.
“SiteBuddy’s potential as a timesaver became very apparent during the app’s testing phase, so we are confident that it will prove to be a big hit.”
SiteBuddy follows the launch of the Reconomy Tipping App in September 2017, which allows clients to optimise the daily tipping and collection schedules for their fleet vehicles.
The company has also recently launched an internal auditing app for use by its representatives when visiting clients to determine how well each of their sites is segregating, recycling and reusing waste.
